| MediaScrape(TM), the Internet Broadcast News Company, Inc. recognized for innovation through significant Research & Development (R&D) capital award |
July 24, 2008 |
MONTREAL, July 23 /CNW Telbec/ - MediaScrape(TM), the Internet Broadcast News Company, Inc., announced today that it has been awarded significant federal and provincial government research and development capital awards for its invention of patent pending "Scrape" technology, now applied to MediaScrape.com's and syndication partners' online video news platforms.
The "Scrape" technology allows media syndication partner websites using MediaScrape(TM) news video clips to couple their text news summaries with news videos featuring multilingual subtitles and geo-targeting, all executed within milliseconds.
The government's R&D capital award program recognizes inventions that overcome a scientific/technological uncertainty and achieves a scientific/technological advancement. In this case, the innovation overcomes gaps in available software for global news video content management.
Tyler N. Cavell, founder and Chief Executive Officer of MediaScrape(TM), said: "The essential benefit of this technology is that it allows us and our growing global network of traditional media partners to deliver news from anywhere, anytime, and on any Internet platform (now including BlackBerry and iPhones). We are now focussing our attention on commercializing this unique technological platform following a successful second round of venture financing and agreements with Google, CBC, the BBC, and television broadcasters around the world," added Mr. Cavell, "it is very gratifying that our game-changing innovations are being recognized in this way."
"We believe that the R&D cash award and ongoing innovations such as the Google AdSense for Video integration demonstrate how MediaScrape(TM) is building on Canada and Quebec's tradition of technological and business prowess in the online and multimedia space," said Mr Cavell.
