| New Canadian Website Lets Professional Drivers Share GPS Tips & Tricks |

If a small PND (personal navigation device) isn't good enough, use laptop GPS
TORONTO, Aug. 12 /CNW/ - Laptop GPS World (http://www.laptopgpsworld.com/ ) is a new Canadian-based non-commercial website, and currently the only website, that focuses solely on GPS navigation done with the use of a laptop computer, ultra-mobile PC (UMPC), or tablet PC.
Why would someone use a big laptop for road GPS navigation, instead of a small PND? "The bigger screen size is one of many attractions for some people. A laptop's 15 inch screen is more appropriate for a trip planning, than the small display of your iPhone" says Marvin Hlavac, the founder of Laptop GPS World. "Price is also a deciding factor for some users. A laptop can be set up for GPS navigation for as little as $50. And that includes GPS software and a USB GPS receiver. Also emergency services prefer laptops to other forms of GPS navigation."
According to Marvin Hlavac, it is the professional drivers, and people who spend many hours each day behind the wheel, such as mobile sales workers, who seem to be attracted to his website the most. Travelling sales people, truckers, RVers, and others, share at the public forum their experience with various PC GPS software. The forum is divided to sections by product name, such as Microsoft Streets & Trips, DeLorme Street Atlas, Garmin Mobile PC, iNav iGuidance, ALK CoPilot, etc, in addition to general sections that deal with all software and hardware. The website benefits by forum participation of some of the manufacturers of PC GPS software.
Laptop GPS World reached over 30,000 unique visitors in July.
